Abstract
The study aimed to evaluate the role of the social and psychological specialist in supporting patients in the health sector: a field study on a sample of patients in the Irada and Mental Health Complex in Jeddah Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study used the descriptive analytical approach and a questionnaire to collect data, which was applied to a sample of patients in the Irada Complex. And mental health in Jeddah, which numbered 100 patients. The data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program, and the study reached a number of results, the most important of which is that there are no statistically significant differences between the responses of patients in the Irada Complex and mental health in Jeddah Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia according to their demographic characteristics ( Gender, age, educational qualification) regarding the role of the social and psychological worker in supporting patients. The study presented a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: launching guidance and educational programs targeting patients and their families, including topics related to psychological and social health, such as stress management and improving family relationships. Providing psychological support services via the Internet or telephone, allowing patients to access support and advice even outside the complex. And using smart applications and social media platforms to facilitate communication between social and psychological workers and patients, and provide advice and support remotely.
