Abstract

This study has been done to examine the factors affecting the intention to use electric vehicle in India. For this empirical study, data was collected from 280 people on the factors affecting their intention to use an electric vehicle through survey questionnaires. Based on the theory of planned behavior, are search model was created in which the structured equational modelling technique was used to test the research hypothesis. The research results showed that the intention to use electric vehicles in India is strongly influenced by environmental concerns, government policies, and purchase price. Hence, this paper provides information for players planning to market and promote electric vehicles. At the same time, the government should formulate more appropriate and effective policies to encourage the use of electric vehicles in India as a strategy to reduce carbon emissions. There search suggests future studies to explore more factors by including more respondents and more locations.
