Abstract

Direct Benefit Transfer schemes have the potential to improve the livelihoods of farmers of the Below poverty line (BPL) in Andhra Pradesh. However, the impact of direct benefit transfer schemes on BPL farmers is a topic of debate. The literature review examines the literature to identify the factors that affect the impact on farmers of BPL. In general, the literature review indicates that Direct Benefit transfer schemes have positive and negative impacts on farmers. In particular, the review reveals that the impacts of direct benefits transfer schemes are complex and context-specific. The review of the literature suggests that direct benefits transfers can have positive social and economic impacts on the lives of farmers in the BPL by improving their economic empowerment, reducing poverty, and improving their overall well-being. In addition, it is necessary to carefully evaluate and monitor the effects of these schemes on farmers to ensure that they effectively address poverty alleviation and improve their livelihoods.
