Abstract
According to reports, one of the biggest unmet needs for melanoma patients is information and psychological support. In order to address these needs, we created the Melanoma Care Intervention, a psychoeducational intervention that includes a newly created melanoma education booklet and specially designed telephone support sessions conducted by qualified psychologists for individuals who are at high risk of developing another melanoma. Investigating the acceptability and viability of the Melanoma Care Intervention was the aim of this study. Conclusions: In order to improve psychological adjustment, the intervention was both feasible and acceptable. For those with melanoma, prompt access to efficient, evidence-based psychological care is acknowledged. In a way that is practical in a clinical setting and acceptable to both patients and medical professionals, the intervention is intended to directly address this need.
