Abstract

In the 21st century, technology has become an essential aspect of our lives and it plays an indispensable role in different areas including business, education, and the healthcare sector. In the healthcare sector, technology plays an important role in enhancing patient safety and experience. Hospitals are using a wide variety of technologies including electronic health records (EHRs), barcode medication administration (BCMA) systems, telehealth, artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT) devices to improve their services. As for patients, they are not only interested in the quality of medical services, but also in the overall experience during their hospital stay. In this paper, we discuss the significance of implementing technology in hospitals to enhance patient safety and experience.
