##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Abstract
This critical review explores the pivotal role of nursing care in addressing anxiety and depression in patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Anxiety and depression are prevalent comorbidities in CVD patients, significantly impacting outcomes. Nurses play a crucial role in screening, assessing, educating, providing psychotherapy, managing medications, and coordinating care for optimal mental health outcomes. The review highlights the prevalence and impacts of anxiety and depression in CVD populations, emphasizing the need for routine screening and comprehensive nursing assessment. Additionally, it discusses nursing education, psychotherapy, medication management, and care coordination strategies. Despite gaps in nursing practice, such as inadequate knowledge and stigma, targeted interventions are suggested to strengthen mental healthcare delivery. Ultimately, enhancing nursing capacity through education, protocol development, and collaborative care systems can optimize mental health outcomes in the CVD population.
