Probing The Legislative Efforts Of Dravidian Parties In Safeguarding Women's Rights

Abstract

This study investigates the legislative endeavors of Dravidian parties in India, specifically focusing on their efforts to protect and advance women's rights. Dravidian parties, with their historical roots in the southern states of India, have played a significant role in shaping the socio-political landscape of the region. Despite their prominence, there exists a gap in understanding the specific legislative actions undertaken by these parties to address issues related to women's rights. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this research examines the legislative records, policy initiatives, and discourse surrounding women's rights within the platforms of Dravidian parties. Through a comprehensive analysis of relevant laws, bills, and parliamentary debates, the study aims to discern patterns, trends, and discrepancies in the legislative agenda pertaining to women's rights. Ultimately, this research seeks to shed light on the evolving dynamics of political representation and governance in the pursuit of gender justice within the Dravidian political landscape.
