Abstract
Case denotes the grammatical category reflecting a noun's (or pronoun's) relationship with other sentence elements, signifying the role that a noun plays in sentence structure, such as subject, object, or possessor. In Punjabi and other languages, noun case significantly influences grammatical function within sentences. Punjabi employs numerous cases to indicate a noun's role and relationship with other words. Traditionally, Punjabi recognizes eight cases, demonstrating grammatical ties between nouns and verbs, elucidating noun roles in diverse contexts. This study aims to identify Punjabi noun cases through morphological analysis. The analysis of noun case involves recognizing form changes, especially endings, and determining grammatical roles. Each Punjabi noun case bears distinct morphemes or post-positions in Shahmukhi Punjabi, facilitating case identification for educational and research purposes in understanding first language acquisition errors.
