Abstract
This Study Aimed to Examine the Contributing Factors and Major Challenges of Household Health Care Expenditure (He) In Uttarakhand, India. The Study Utilized a Comprehensive Approach to Understand the Complex Dynamics and Economic Implications of He in The Region. Through A Combination of Primary Data Collection and Secondary Research, The Analysis Identified Several Contributing Factors Affecting He, Including Low Family Income, Presence of Older Family Members, Lack of Knowledge on Health Care Issues, Reliance on Private Health Care Providers, And Inadequate Public Health Infrastructure. These Factors Collectively Contribute to Increased Healthcare Costs and Financial Burdens on Households. Additionally, The Analysis Highlighted Major Challenges Such as The Need For Improved Education And Awareness, Access To Affordable Health Care, Availability Of Specialist Services, And Proper Regulation Of Health Facilities. The Findings Underscored The Significance Of Targeted Policy Interventions And Investment In Healthcare Infrastructure To Address These Challenges And Ensure Better Health Care Outcomes For Households In Uttarakhand. The Study Titled "An Economic Analysis Of Household Health Expenditure With Special Reference To Kumaon Region (Uttarakhand)" Explored Household Healthcare Costs And Disparities In Healthcare Spending In The Kumaon Region Of Uttarakhand, India. The Researchers Conducted A Survey With 400 Respondents, Focusing On Factors Influencing Healthcare Spending. The Findings Revealed That The Majority Of Respondents Were Educated And Employed In The Private Sector, With Average Monthly Incomes Between Rs 20,000 And Rs 30,000. Approximately 20% Of The Monthly Household Income Was Spent On Medical Expenses, Including Non-State-Supported Public Health Services. The Study Highlighted The Prevalence Of Lifestyle Diseases And Inadequate Medical Facilities In The Region. It Emphasized The Importance Of Education And Income-Earning Members In Reducing Healthcare Costs And Raised Concerns About The Lack Of Government Support And Infrastructure. The Study Suggested The Need For Policy Interventions, Improved Access To Affordable Healthcare, And Better Regulation Of Healthcare Facilities In Uttarakhand.
