Abstract

In the study of (The scopes of coverage of economic issues in the casts of channel Iraq 24 and the methods of processing them), the researcher dealt with the subject of the economic scopes that the channel dealt with in the research sample, focusing on the following main question: (What are the economic scopes used in dealing with the news casts in the channel, the research sample?.)

This research is descriptive research, and the researcher used the survey method in its two parts (descriptive and analytical), adopting the method of content analysis in studying problems, surveying the vocabulary of the research topic, and indicating its indicators and scientific observations. The research objectives focused on revealing the economic ranges used by the Iraqi satellite channel in question, and identifying the elements of highlighting and the mechanisms adopted by the channel in dealing with economic news. The research community was represented by the main news bulletins of the channel, the research sample, for the period from 1/1/2022 to 31/3/2022.

The researcher reached the following results: Iraq 24 focused on the abstract treatment in its framing of events through its news broadcasts, and focused on the specific domains in its news treatment. Mechanisms and methods for dealing with news came, the most prominent of which was the highlighting mechanism, which ranked first among the mechanisms and methods used by Iraq 24 channel in framing economic news.
