Abstract
In terms of concept, theory, and practice, political parties undoubtedly exhibit distinct political behavior in the context of the upcoming 2024 presidential election. This study delves into the intricacies of political behavior displayed by political parties leading up to the 2024 presidential election. Employing a qualitative methodology, the research approach focuses on analysis and description. The findings underscore that political behavior significantly influences election outcomes, holding a pivotal role within Indonesia's political landscape. The interplay between political behavior exhibited by both political parties and the general populace injects vitality into the electoral process, thus safeguarding Indonesia's democratic principles. Moreover, the 2024 presidential election underscores the paramount role of political parties as a cornerstone of democracy. These entities are instrumental in nurturing civic education within the nation, further underscoring the imperative to fortify their capacities, quality, and performance. This reinforcement aligns with the collective aspirations and desires of the populace, ultimately enhancing the caliber of democracy. In anticipation of the 2024 presidential election, several political parties have initiated preparatory measures. Notable among these are the Prosperous Justice Party (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS)), the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP)), and the Gelora Party. Additionally, a collaborative coalition has emerged, encompassing various parties for the 2024 presidential election. This includes the United Indonesia Coalition (Koalisi Indonesia Bersatu (KIB)), the Great Indonesia Awakening Coalition (Koalisi Kebangkitan Indonesia Raya (KIR)), and the Coalition of Change. Nevertheless, the KIB coalition remains open to potential presidential candidates beyond its own ranks, indicating a willingness to foster alliances with other parties or coalition groups.
