Abstract

This research study investigates the proficiency and effectiveness of English teachers within the UEP Senior High School department system in developing language and communication skills among young learners. The study finds that English teachers possess the necessary knowledge and qualities to facilitate a successful teaching and learning process in the classroom, demonstrating competence in their leadership roles within the institution. Based on the findings, several recommendations are proposed to further enhance the capabilities and performance of English teachers. Firstly, school administrators are encouraged to support the professional growth of teachers by keeping them abreast of the latest trends in education. This will enable teachers to effectively improve student performance by maximizing their education and skills. It is advised that teachers optimize the young age of their students by implementing appropriate teaching strategies for English language acquisition, fostering the development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values. To enhance teacher performance, it is recommended that institutions support teachers in attending training sessions provided by teacher training institutions. By implementing these recommendations, English teachers within the UEP system can further enrich their teaching abilities, resulting in the betterment of language and communication skills among young learners.
