Abstract

This paper explores the role of corpora in EFL teaching and learning activities at Saudi universities. The study highlights the importance of improving English language proficiency among Saudi learners and the potential benefits of using corpora, such as data-driven learning and improved understanding of language structures. Through specific examples, the paper illustrates how corpora can be used effectively in the classroom and discusses methods for incorporating corpora into the EFL curriculum. The study also examines the challenges and benefits of using corpora in EFL teaching and learning activities and provides recommendations for educators, including incorporating corpora-based activities, providing training for instructors, and developing and utilizing corpora-based materials. The research questions and hypotheses provide a clear direction for future studies, and the study concludes that the use of corpora is a promising approach to improve EFL learners' language proficiency and should be further explored and integrated into EFL teaching and learning activities.
