Abstract
The prevalence of malnutrition in children under the age of five is relatively high in India. It is especially among those belonging to ethnic minorities like Scheduled Tribes (STs). India has launched its own flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for young children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.This programme is known as Poshan Abhiyaan or the National Nutrition Mission, which aims to address the problem of undernutrition and child mortality.The purpose of the paper is to explore the implementation of Poshan Abhiyaan in the Panna district, Madhya Pradesh, India. Itwas mainly focused on the severely malnourished children(SAM) of the ethnic minorities andexplored the progress of the Poshan Abhiyaan in Panna. It elaborately understands the shortcomings of the programme in terms of barriers to its implementation faced by key stakeholders.
